Obama gets Nobel Peace prize. Twitter goes berserk.

ObamaIn General: So President Obama has been in office for just nine months and has already been declared the messiah of the world by winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Come on!!!!!! Agree Bush probably deserved the shoe that a journalist threw at his face, but does Obama truly deserve this title?? Bush sent troops to Afghanistan but Obama has not exactly called them back (in fact he has added more). Shouldn’t we have given him some more time to prove his intentions and walk the talk before lauding him with such a huge honour?? Personally, I really like President obama and think he will surely do all that he has promised and maybe this award should have been given to him, eventually. Here’s what the President feels, “To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who’ve been honored by this prize.”

If you want to know what people really think about this, search Twitter for Obama related Tweets and you’ll see it all. Crimson Hexagon has already analysed the Tweets about Obama winning the award and the statistics suggest that 69% of Tweets reflect that Obama has not done anything significant yet to achieve this. To be honest, my favourite Tweet was: Has anyone asked Kanye West what he thinks of Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize?  🙂

    • Pre-mature for sure. I have been reading news and blogs in defense of this prize and they say it is ‘an encouragement for efforts’ as opposed to ‘an award of achievement’, still I think it’s a bit toooooo soon.

  1. Magpie, I agree… its too early… Nobel Prize is for an “achievement” and not for “efforts” … let’s not go Ga Ga over him too soon…
